What do you think about the match against SK? Did it end the way you expected?
- We obviously had a slow start as terrorists, as SK took an early 5-0 lead. We kind of used one tactic all the time and rotated around it. If we would have won our initial gunround, we probably would have taken additional rounds or perhaps even managed to win. Additionally, we had not played Counter-Strike for two days now. While the setup is really good and feels quite like home, we hadn't had time to warm up properly. Three of our computers had issues so we only had around five minutes to warmup, while SK had played one of their matches already. I think they had an advantage due to them already being familiar to the LAN setups and warmed up.
Did the travel to Finland affect your gameplay?
- Well, we didn't really have time for sleep and we stayed awake at the Norwegian airport the entire night. We headed straight to our hotel and slept for around five hours before our first match against SK just now. Didn't really get enough sleep.
You will be facing Power Gaming and Playzone.fi next. Do you believe you will proceed further in the tournament?
- We don't know anything special about the Finnish teams. We haven't seen them play in a while, but we do know that Playzone got a whole new lineup just recently. I heard they beat H2K pretty bad in a practice match, so I'm not sure. They have a reputation of being onliners but you'll never know. They beat us on The Gathering in Norway already so you can never tell.
What do you think about the merging of the WCG grand final slots of every nordic country into the WCG Nordic finals?
- I think it's pretty bad that Norway, Sweden and Finland have to compete to get one single spot when there are five good teams. So it's quite bad to send just one when the others could deal much damage to other international teams.
How do you see the Norwegian Counter-Strike scene?
- The Norwegian scene is pretty bad. I think most of the Norwegians players have trouble understanding teamplay. We have a lot of extremely good individually talented players but when it comes to teamplay and communication, it's a lot of trouble. It's quite visible on Norwegian pickups as well: players either talk too much or not at all. Norway has a lot of talent and we are competing, but we aren't winning. Additionally, teams quitting and switching members far too often has been an issue the last few years. When we were in Excello, we sticked together for around a year and I think that's the record for a Norwegian team sticking together.
What do you think of the ASSEMBLY Summer 2010 event?
- The event itself is good. I didn't know it was linked to a bigger LAN party in the main area, but the place is very quiet and very good. The admins try to do their best to help us, even though it took some time. Nevertheless, the issues were solved and everything ran fine from that point on. I can't really say anything negative about the event.
